What is Geography?

Geography is a study of landscape. Geography is also a map of a city going into a county going into a state going into a country going into a continent . There are 4 things that are ALWAYS in a map . A legend, a  compose rose, a title, and last but not least the scale. The legend is important (well all the things are important ) because sometimes in maps I see there is symbols and the legend tells what they mean. For instance  what if there was a sign that looked like this: *? Then I would turn to the legend and it would show me what it means. The next thing is the compose rose , it helps when you don't know where you are . The next thing is the title. All maps need titles . Without it you wouldn't be able to know which map you were reading . Last but not least the scale . It doesn't help much but it is one of the 4 things that are always on a map so a scale helps find locations and distances on a map.

Since school started I've been loving geography and its been my favorite part of the day and wanted to write about it so I can always remember it.

Lake Arrowhead

3 weeks ago our family took a family vacation to Lake Arrowhead and we invited Gram and Papa and Uncle Bobby and Aunt Amy and Cousin Porter to join us. You can't believe how big the cabin was. When you walk in the door there is a small 3 step staircase. If you go down the staircase there is the kitchen and to the left of the kitchen is two staircases one going down and one going up which I'll talk about later. To the right of the kitchen there's the living room. Above the living room is the game room where all the games are - like foozball, air hockey, and karaoke. Downstairs is where our bedroom is. (Elle, Calvin's, and mine). Walk straight and then turn right there is a door. If you open the door there's the bathroom - you have no idea of how much FUN we had in the bath tub. It was like heaven.

 

Now I need to show you the upstairs ( which is not too exiting but important to the masters). The upstairs is the master bedroom on the bed Elle and I sat on every night for 30 min - watching T.V. On the bed it has 3 remotes and 3 layers of sheets . One of the remotes turns on the T.V while the other  turns on which movie you want. If you need to go to the bathroom get off the bed make sure that your walking right, go up a 4 stair staircase and you are in the bathroom. If you want to take a break and play a the game, then open the door to the left  and there's the game room!  Now I want to show you the most beautiful part of the house (which is not actually part of the house). Open the sliding door and go outside and go down the 3 levels of stairs turn left there's our view spot of the lake. Go  down the view spot stairs and if you're with an adult, jump right in! Something I enjoyed doing at the lake was kayaking, paddle boarding, and just swimming. It was a great trip to Lake Arrowhead!

New baby

A few weeks ago I learned Mom is having a baby! She just couldn't keep it a secret . There was no way she could keep it a secret when she's going to the doctor with no one to watch us  . The next day I went to the doctor with mom and well the first day we didn't last long . All she really did was fill out papers and  we were getting bored so mom called dad and he took us to CHICK FIL A . The next day was more exiting . We got up early in the morning and set off for the doctors office. When we went to the doctor's office we waited in the waiting room and played with the sand magnet box. It was very fun. Then she called us back into a small room with a bed. It looked comfortable. When the doctor came in she gave mom a robe and we got to hear the baby's heartbeat on the computer.  It sounded very cool. We we got pictures of the tiny baby (which didn't actually look like a baby). Then mommy changed back into her clothes and we went to the doctor's office and she talked to us about what to do now that mommy has a baby in her tummy. It was interesting seeing how James looked in a baby magazine month by month.

Now mommy is 15 weeks along I want to share some of my feelings of having a new child in our  family.

Having a baby is a special and sacred thing to have. Some moms can't have a baby. We have been praying a lot for him and finally Heavenly Father blessed us with one! Out of all our praying I really think its going to last. I just can't wait for late Feb. or early Mar.

School

I am in the third grade. I am trying to be a good student and to work hard in my classroom. My classroom number is M-1. My all year number is 22. At first I felt scared to go to a new class and especially a new school. I love my teacher Mrs.Upton . Just in the 3rd week of school I've learned so much I didn't learn in Tierra linda. I think this is a better school for me and my knowledge.
