We landed in Boston late and then drove to the Gertsch's house. The boys were asleep but I ate some peaches because I was hungry. I wanted to play the piano but Matt said it was sleeping. The next morning, we had pancakes and I got to play with Hunter, Mason, Crew, Ruby, and baby Tommy. Then we went to the science museum. My favorite thing was going to the electricity show and the animal show. At the electricity show, my favorite part was the musical lightning. At the animal show, I learned about a hairy armadillo. We had a lot of fun with the Gertsch's!
After the science museum, Dad and I drove to New Hampshire. On the way, we stopped at McDonalds for lunch. I was so excited to get to the lake. It was so beautiful.
We had dinner - barbecue and cornbread - and then we made secret hideouts. Jessica and I competed against the boys, Tyler and Austin, to see whose hideout was best. Our hideout had tall grass, a big swing, a hammock, a great sitting place of a really pretty view of the lake, and a volleyball court. It also had a secret passage way to our secret hideout.
What was funny is that the boys always went the wrong way! Soon it was time to go to bed. We drove to Fred's house where we would stay. My dad and I picked a bedroom that had two beds inside and a nice big closet. I fell asleep so fast!
The next day, we played at the lake most of the day.
When the sun came out and it got warm, I felt braver and wanted to jump off the dock.
I even swam out to the floating dock with Kaitlyn and Eric!
That night I slept in dads bed because Aunt Jocelyn, her son Colin ,and Uncle Michael arrived. They needed a place to sleep, so we let them sleep in the other bed. The next morning I got up early and drove to Joyce and Joel's house (where Jessica was sleeping). We picked up the boys and drove to Maine. We drove to the cemetery in Kittery to see where GG parents (my great-great grandparents) are buried and to talk about GG and her family. Everyone told some good stories about GG, especially Aunt Fay and Grandpa Al who were GG's children.
We also went to see the house GG grew up in and the creek where GG was baptized:
We then drove to York, Maine to see a beautiful lighthouse, play at little York beach, and eat GG's favorite saltwater taffy.
After the beach, we went to Maine's main restaurant to eat lobster.
I wasn't quite sure about eating Lobsters. It made me sad because they could have lived a long life in the ocean. I did have fun holding a live Lobster. I'm glad it didn't pinch me!!
My cousin Sydney and Jessica were checking out the gift shop so I told dad I was going check it
out and he said he would go with me. We went inside and dad told me I could get one souvenir. Jessica and I got matching star fish necklaces! Now I could always remember Jessica and this great trip. Then we said goodbye to to Jessica and our friends and dad and I left . It was a great trip to New Hampshire ! But that wasn't the end of the end of the trip. We drove back to stay with the Gertsch's one last night before we flew to North Carolina to meet up with Mom, Elle, and Cal for the Rudd family reunion.
